Independent freight forwarder
Sea, air and road freight, managed end to end by one named specialist who answers for your shipment from first quote to final delivery.
What we move
Each shipment is planned on its own merits. We recommend the mode that fits your cargo, deadline and budget, and tell you plainly when another option would serve you better.
Photograph to comeContainer terminal at dusk, gantry cranes, long lens
The most economical way to move volume over long distances.
Photograph to comeAircraft cargo hold, ULD pallets, low light
When time, value or shelf life matters more than cost.
Photograph to comeTruck on open road at first light, wide, empty landscape
Flexible, direct and fast over land, from a single pallet to a full trailer.
Why an independent forwarder
Carrier-neutral means our only incentive is to move your cargo well. It is the reason many experienced shippers prefer an independent forwarder.
You deal with one named person. They manage the carriers, documents, customs formalities and handovers, and they answer for the result.
Because we do not own ships, aircraft or trucks, we select the carrier, route and price that suit each shipment, not the one that fills our own capacity.
Carriers and partners are selected for reliability, adequate insurance and regulatory compliance, and reviewed on how they actually perform.
All-in pricing, with surcharges such as BAF and THC itemised and explained before you book. What you approve is what you pay, unless the cargo or scope changes.
How it works
You always know what happens next, what you will receive and when.
You tell us what you are shipping, from where to where, and by when.
We compare carriers and routings, then send one clear recommendation.
On your approval we book space and prepare the paperwork.
We follow the shipment and keep you informed at every milestone.
We confirm delivery, close the file and make sure the paperwork is complete.
The people behind it
Cargo Captain was founded by logistics professionals who wanted to run shipments the way they would want their own run. When you work with us, you work with them.

Coverage
Lanes and regions we serve regularly. Other origins and destinations are available on request through our partner network.
{{TODO: Example lanes shown for layout only. Replace with the lanes Cargo Captain actually serves in content/en/coverage.json.}}
Our commitments
Not aspirations. These are the standards every shipment is run against, and you are entitled to ask us about any of them.
Itemised and all-in, with its validity period stated. If we need more information, we ask within the same window rather than leave you waiting.
From the first quote to the final invoice, you have one person's name, direct line and email. They know your shipment without being briefed again.
You hear from us at every milestone: booking confirmed, cargo collected, departed, arrived, cleared and delivered. And immediately if anything changes.
Every line on the quote is named and explained. If a carrier changes a surcharge before departure, we tell you before it reaches your invoice.
Commercial invoice, packing list and transport documents are reviewed against each other before the cargo moves, when errors are cheapest to fix.
If a different mode, date or Incoterm would save you money or risk, we say so, even when it means a smaller job for us.
Questions worth asking
The questions careful buyers ask us most, answered directly.
It is a fair question, and one you should ask any forwarder. The company is new; the people running it are not. {{TODO: founders' combined years in logistics and previous roles}} You can read about them on our about page and contact them directly.
Every shipment moves with carriers we vet for reliability, insurance and compliance, under written terms. You deal with one named person who is accountable from quote to delivery. And everything that matters is in writing: the quote, the scope, the carrier and the conditions.
If you would rather start with a single, smaller shipment to see how we work, we would welcome that.
Your named contact at Cargo Captain is your single point of responsibility. You do not have to deal with the carrier, the terminal or the insurer yourself: we coordinate the response, keep you informed, and help you prepare and pursue any claim.
Legal liability for loss or damage in transit is governed by the applicable international convention (the Hague-Visby Rules for sea, the Montreal Convention for air, the CMR Convention for road) and by our trading conditions. These conventions limit liability per kilogram, often well below the value of the goods, which is why we recommend cargo insurance for valuable shipments.
Not automatically, and no shipper should assume it is. A carrier's liability is limited by convention and often covers only a fraction of the cargo's value. Cargo insurance covers the goods themselves, typically on an all-risks basis.
{{TODO: confirm whether Cargo Captain arranges cargo insurance, through which insurer, and on what basis}} If you share the cargo value when requesting a quote, we will advise on cover.
Our quotes are all-in and itemised. A typical quote shows the base freight rate, carrier surcharges (for example BAF for fuel, THC for terminal handling, and peak season surcharges), origin and destination charges, documentation and our service fee. Optional services such as insurance are shown separately.
Each quote states its validity period and what is excluded, usually import duties and taxes. For a full explanation see how a freight quote is built.
Origin and destination, a description of the goods, the number of pieces and packaging, total weight and dimensions or volume, the ready date and the Incoterm, if known. For dangerous goods we also need the Safety Data Sheet.
The quote form asks for exactly this, with a built-in volume calculator. If you do not have every detail, send what you have.
We prepare and check the transport documents for every shipment: the bill of lading for sea, the air waybill for air and the CMR consignment note for road. Before departure we check them against the commercial invoice and packing list.
{{TODO: confirm how customs clearance is handled: in-house, or through licensed customs declarants in each country}}
You will receive a clear, all-in quote within {{TODO: quote response time}}. No obligation, and your details are never shared.
